Musicals & Plays
1957 Season

The 1957 Season continued scheduling fewer runs of 1 week and more 2 week runs of shows. You might also notice a familiar face; that of Larry Hagman, Mary Martin's son, appearing in this Season's "South Pacific," a Broadway show for which she is famous.

Each year, the Music Circus' Public Relations Office would produce a "Season Program" at the beginning of each season, listing the shows and other attractions being offered for the whole season.

Amazingly, the stage for this production was converted into an ice- skating rink—supervised by Harry Hirsch and supplied by Jon Newson & Company. The ballets were done on ice! Musical Director, Donald Pippin, re-orchestrated the entire show for two pianos and an 8 piece orchestra.
