Musicals & Plays
1960 Season

Mr. Terrell booked Paul Whiteman and Louis Armstrong for the first two weeks of the 1960 Season. It was to emphasize his introduction of "Monday Nite Jazz" at the Music Circus. The first of the regular Jazz Concerts began with George Shearing and his Quintet on July 18, 1960. The popularity of these concerts would induce Mr. Terrell to expand concerts to Sunday afternoons, and add more genres, including Folk, Rock, Contemporary, Pianists, Comedians and others to the schedule.
